For 39 years, the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMHC CTX) has been to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families.

At our current 30-bedroom Ronald McDonald House in Austin, the 45-night average length of stay has been steadily increasing as our hospital partners expand their advanced specialty care and our Central Texas population continues to grow. We have consistently been beyond our capacity to serve every family who needs us, turning away 6 out of every 10 families because our House is so full.

To solve this issue and meet the demand for pediatric healthcare services in our region, the Ronald McDonald House must expand to add 51 guest bedrooms in a 40,500 sq ft addition to our current location, increasing our capacity by 173% and allowing us to serve 81 families a day. To that end, in 2021 RMHC CTX launched A Place Like Home, a $30MM comprehensive campaign with a vision to serve every family who needs us.

Your support at this time will also help RMHC CTX meet a challenge from the Mabee Foundation who, if we meet the $7MM challenge by July 2024, will donate an additional $2MM to help accelerate A Place Like Home toward groundbreaking and make it a reality for our families and community.
