For 39 years, the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMHC CTX) has been to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families.

At our current 30-bedroom Ronald McDonald House in Austin, we continue to exceed our capacity to meet the growing needs of families seeking our support. With the expansion of advanced specialty care at our hospital partners and the rapid growth of the Central Texas population, many families are placed on our waitlist, eagerly waiting for a room to become available, so they can stay close to their critically ill children.

In 2021, RMHC CTX launched A Place Like Home, a $30M comprehensive campaign with a vision to serve every family who needs us. The phased plan will add 51 new rooms across the Austin area, including a location in North Austin and additional rooms at our Mueller campus. This expansion will ensure families can stay close to their child’s hospital, regardless of where the child’s medical journey occurs.
