Burial Assistance

Since 1993, RMHC CTX has helped families who have lost children due to illness or injury. Suffering the loss of a child is a devastating sorrow. At times, families faced with this tragic loss do not have the financial means to cover the cost of properly interring their child. Through our Healing Hearts program, families are provided burial assistance to help ease the financial burden. Central Texas families who experience the loss of a child might be eligible for financial assistance to help with the costs associated with the burial or cremation services.

For more information on burial assistance funds on behalf of families, contact a hospital social worker or chaplain where the child was receiving treatment. If the child passed at home, please contact the local police department’s victim services representative for information on the application process. For more information about Healing Hearts, please contact healinghearts@rmhc-ctx.org.

Honoring the Lives of Children in our Memory Garden

To honor the life of the child, RMHC CTX presents families who have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms or who have participated in the bereavement support group with an engraved river rock to be placed in the memory gardens at the Ronald McDonald House in Austin and at the Rose Garden at St. Joseph College Station hospital. Families are welcome to visit their child’s stone at both locations.
