Keeping families with sick children together and near the care and resources they need.
It’s something we see every day – critically ill or injured children surrounded by their families. And while RMHC CTX may not be able to make the medicine taste better or erase the pain of a much-needed treatment, we can help lessen the burden for thousands of Central Texas families every year. Since we opened our doors in 1985, we have never closed them.
For 37 years, we have supported children and families through our Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Happy Wheels Carts and Healing Hearts program.
The Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are a comforting “home-away-from-home” that keeps families close to their hospitalized children. The Happy Wheels Carts stroll the hospital hallways bringing complimentary items to families waiting by their child’s bedside and the Healing Hearts program supports families that have tragically lost a child.
Our Mission
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMHC CTX) is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families. Guiding us in our mission are our core values:

Our Programs
The Central Texas Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide a comforting “home-away-from-home” for families to stay so they can fight their child’s illness or injury together. Our Happy Wheels Carts stroll the hospital hallways bringing complimentary items to families waiting by their child’s hospital bedside. RMHC CTX also supports families who have lost a child through the Healing Hearts program, which provides burial assistance and bereavement support.
Through the caring support of our community we are able to carry out the mission of RMHC CTX. We rely on our strong relationship with the medical community to provide access to health care. We rely on our local McDonald’s Owner/Operators as well as other corporate partners. And we rely on our strategic alliances with organizations, that have the knowledge and infrastructure to extend our reach. Most of all, we rely on you – our donors, volunteers, staff and friends.

Our House is a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost.
RMHC Family Rooms
Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer a place to rest and regroup right at the hospital, just moments away from their sick child.
Happy Wheels Cart
Designed to support families with hospitalized children, the Happy Wheels Carts stroll the hospital hallways and provide comfort as parents focus on their children.
Healing Hearts Program
The HOPE Support Group of Healing Hearts provides free bereavement support to help families that have experienced perinatal and infant loss.
